ACCC Advisory BoardThe Community Corrections Advisory Board was established in December 1984 with members serving an unspecified term. Pursuant to IC 11-12, membership is to consist of the following due to office or position held at time of appointment: County Sheriff; Prosecuting Attorney; Director of County Welfare Department and an Executive of the most populous municipality in the county or the executive's designee. The Circuit Court Judge appoints three members having the following status: (2) Judges having Criminal Jurisdiction, and (1) Judge having Juvenile Jurisdiction. One Public Defender or the Public Defender's designee, if available, or one attorney with a substantial criminal defense practice appointed by the County Executive. The County Commissioners appoint 11 members to serve for a period of four years: one education administrator; one representative of a private corrections agency, if such agency exists in County; one mental health administrator; one ex-offender; one county fiscal member; one victim and four lay-persons, at least one of whom must be a member of a minority race and is willing to serve. 11-12-2 (b) Designees of officials designated under subsection (a)(1) through (a)(7) and (a)(10)(A) serve at the pleasure of the designated official.
