Motivational Interviewing

Six Pillars of Community Supervision

Become a Specatular Communicator

The simple definition of "Communication" is this: "The act of sending a message so that it is received and understood, the way that you intend it to be received and understood." Consider your arenas of communication: work peers, work clients, our home, and our friends. Anticipating the "receiver" of your message helps you decide on the words you choose. Learn how our personality, perspectives, and priorities often derail our good intentions.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completing the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand client non-verbal communication and respond effectively
  • Know how to enhance teamwork within peer workgroups
  • Understand the importance of recognition
  • Recognize and avoid common communication errors
