:: Mental Health Assessment and Treatment Division
Purpose: The Mental Health Assessment and Treatment Division’s role is to administer mental health tests and perform mental health evaluations. This is in order to inform change agents on how best to serve the participant and manage the participant’s case. Additionally, the Division is responsible for providing referrals to providers for substance use disorders and other mental health issues to participants. By knowing more about the psychology of a participant, the Division enhances the safety of the community by identifying and addressing participant mental health needs.
Objective Tasks:
Perform mental health testing, under proper supervision (as required by law).
Perform mental health evaluations, under proper supervision (as required by law).
Make mental health diagnoses and treatment recommendations, under proper supervision (as required by law).
Communicate recommendations to referral sources per Division policy.
Make informed referrals to outside sources for care that is not appropriate to the scope and purpose of the Division.
Maintain, within applicable laws, confidentiality of participant records and identity.
Ensure that the Division is conducting itself in a legal and ethical manner with regard to mental health testing, clinical assessment, and treatment.
Division Procedures:
Perform mental health testing, under proper supervision (as required by law).
Perform mental health evaluations, under proper supervision (as required by law).
Write reports on the mental health of a participant, including diagnoses and treatment recommendations, following American Psychological Association standards, under proper supervision (as required by law).
Communicate mental health evaluation findings to referral sources.
